Qatar National Broadband Network (Qnbn) took central stage as a Platinum sponsor at FTTH MENA, the 4th Edition of the Fiber to the Home Middle East & North Africa Council’s Conference held at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Doha with the theme of “FTTH, The Future at the Speed of Light”.
Qnbn took the opportunity to put the spotlight on its new company Manifesto that pledged to empower the nation through its high speed fiber optic broadband network.
Qnbn CEO Mohammad Al-Mannai, who launched the new Manifesto, commented: “We are immensely proud of being at the forefront of technology, deploying fiber optic infrastructure that will transform the lives of all who live and work in Qatar. Our pledge is to make Qatar one of the best connected countries in the region, if not the world.”
The Manifesto was signed by ictQATAR Assistant Secretary General for Government Programs and Qnbn Board Director, Mr. Hassan Al-Sayed and Qnbn’s CEO, Mohammad Al-Mannai as well as Qnbn senior management and then other Qnbn staff who were present at the event.
Through its investment in advanced technologies, Qnbn will enable Qatar in every sense to fulfill its potential as one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Qnbn will work with government and municipalities to connect educational, health and government bodies, businesses and homes with the very latest fiber optic technology.
Qnbn recently picked up the World Finance Award for Best Innovation, Middle East 2012. Qnbn was awarded for being one of the first initiatives for an open network funded by the government in the region.
